Yoga Meowster Teaching Us Her Badass Yoga Moves

Cat yoga workout

When it’s a beautiful and sunny day ouside, Okica loves to do some badass cat yoga moves in her favorite sunbathing spot. We decided to share her skilled movements with people interested in doing some yoga themselves.

No need to search all over YouTube for professional yoga trainers and videos when we have a yoga meowster right here, teaching us yoga tricks that got her in such a great shape.

So, let’s get going!

Okica, the yoga meowster, teaching us her yoga moves

1. Warming up

Cat Yoga 1

The training always has to begin with a bit of stretching. Put all 4 paws on the ground and bend your head almost to the ground. Do this step 11 times.

2. Touching the tummy

After warming up, the next yoga pose is touching the tummy with your chin. It might take a while to get to the stage where you can actually touch your tummy, but keep on practicing every day and the success is inevitable! Okica recommends doing this step 14 times for the best results.

3. Turn your head to the left, to the left

We must not forget about the head and neck. Okica suggests we exercise our neck often since we spend too much time looking at those strange little machines that fit inside our bald paws.

Turn your head to the left, then to the right and stretch it all out. Repeat 17 times.

4. Stretch your front paws

Next exercise is stretching our front paws. This one is easy. Just stretch your left paw forward, then your right paw forward. Do this 9 times.

5. Check for hemorrhoids

At the end of the training, we must stretch out each one of our 244 bones (206 if you’re a human) and every hard-working muscle.

Lift one of your back legs in the air, behind your head and bend your head so that it’s almost touching your butthole. This will give you extra useful and smelly stretch. While you’re there, you can also check for hemorrhoids.

6. Relax and look cute

And a big finale! Raise your head up high, as much as you can and relax the rest of your body. Look cute while you do it so your human would give you some treats after the training.

7. Go to sleep

After these 2 and a half minutes of exhausting and excruciating yoga training, go to sleep. You deserved it!

Did we motivate you to start with your yoga training?

What a cute post and great photos. We all need to remember to at least do some stretching every day.

This is so funny! Very clever and adorable pictures. My dogs may need to learn some of her yoga moves. They aren’t NEAR as flexible! 🙂

Okica has been practicing yoga for years so it’s not easy to catch up 😀

Cats do rule at yoga. I want to try a doga class sometime but they’re all in cramped spaces so I’m waiting for a bigger one.

This is super cute – me thinks that lots of kitties do yoga every day based on these images and what I see in my own home! 🙂

I don’t think people can ever master yoga as well as cats–real contortionists. I wish I was 10% as nimble and flexible LOL

I would be happy with 10% of their flexibility too 😀

I love this! Made me giggle. Looks like Okica knows what she’s doing. 🙂

I am learning Yoga and there are some parts I like more than others because I can do them. Stretches are surprisingly strenuous and use a lot of energy.

I can’t wait for my yoga with cats at our local cat cafe!

I though yoga was easy until I tried it a couple of times. Not easy at all! Especially those moves that Okica does 🙂

Very cute and original! I loved your photos and comments. I could never get my dog to sit in one place and do all those moves. I’d like to see the human that could do the “check for hemorrhoids” move!

The only time I can get Okica to sit in one place for a photo is when she’s grooming herself (or sleeping). Usually she can’t stand still for a second so all I get is a bunch of weird blury photos 🙂

Yoga is as much about the environment as it is the poses. You certainly have encorporated both! That seems a beautiful place to relax after your poses. I could easily stay in Shavasana pose for hours surrounded by that scenery!

Your yoga moves are impressive! Bernie and Lizzie only know downward dog. Of course, they frequently execute their one yoga pose simultaneously, so that usually earns them the treats around our house. Good luck with your studies. Stay rested!

Yoga Meowster Okica has all the right moves! Okay, so I burst out laughing when I came to the “check for hemorrhoids pose! LOL! That is some position, but she does it so gracefully! Me…I think I’d get stuck and need someone to call 911! Cute post – even cuter pics!

This is my type of yoga and I really need to get motivated and reduce stress although not sure I am as flexible as Okica the yoga meaowster and – that pose is much cuter than me LOL. Great pics.

This was really cute! But I think I’ll leave the yoga to the cats. I could never stretch and bend like they do.
